Sadly, despite Chinese claims that gifted children have psychically transported small objects through walls, the days of just beaming yourself home from work appear to be a long way off...

Great for Shut-ins!

While I certainly prefer looking at an actual book, many of us do not have the opportunity to hold beautiful treasures in our hot little hands. In this case, the British Library's "Turn the Pages" is a great project, where you can "turn" the pages of digitized books and listen to audio descriptions of the pages. The magnifying glass feature is also surprisingly cool--see medieval men playing golf!

Ephemera-R-Us

Swapatorium is the blog of a master bargain hunter. I have no idea how she fits it all in her house, but she's got some great old junk!

Found magazine is not updated nearly as often as I would like, but it is worth taking a look at the things people leave behind.

Winners Lose Their Arms

Probably the only good thing about the current travesty of a Star Wars movie is the opportunity to see cool stuff on the web inspired by the original masterpiece. These awesome business cards, for example. And one of the coolest things about them, being from the 70s, is that someone had to go to a lot of trouble to actually typset and print these, rather than just spitting something out from their home computer.
